North Foster Baptist Church is a community Baptist church located in rural northwest Rhode Island in the town of Foster. We are members of American Baptist Churches of RI and American Baptist Churches USA. In 2024, we celebrated our 200th Anniversary of serving the local community ministry needs. Our church building is made up of our Worship Sanctuary as well as Hammond Hall (with an adjoining kitchen), our large meeting/event space which we use for after service fellowship as well as hosting church and outside organizations’ special events. In the lower level of our building you will find: Pastor Barry’s office; The Cheerful Giver Clothing Ministry Clothing Closet, offering free clothing on the 1st Saturday of each month, 9am-12pm (and by appointment), to anyone who needs it; a Sunday School room; a meeting room; a childcare room; a youth game room; and the Family Room, which is home to The Sparrow’s Nest, offering free cleaning & hygiene products on the 1st Saturday of each month, 9am-11am, to individuals and families registered with the Foster Department of Social Services.

Greetings, in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! I am so glad that you have found your way to our website! And, it is my hope that, through your visit with us here on the net, you would desire to come meet me and rest of the North Foster Baptist Church (NFBC) congregation in person!
It is my desire for all of us at NFBC (and those who visit us) to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord, Jesus, putting into practice what we come to understand God to be teaching us through the Bible, that we might “let our light shine before men, that they may see our good works, and praise our Father in heaven.”

Reverend Barry P. Arruda (a.k.a. Pastor Barry or PB) grew up in Rhode Island, earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Rhode Island, a Master’s Degree from Providence College, attended Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and was American Baptist ordained in October 2006. He served the Lord in Camping & Youth Ministry for 12 years, as an Assistant Pastor for 3 ½ years and has been serving as a Pastor for 15 years.
Pastor Barry and his wife, Kristen, were married in 1992, have 4 children & a mini Goldendoodle. In addition to his family and ministry, Pastor Barry enjoys sports (especially soccer), games, movies, singing, playing guitar and doing carpentry, mechanic & handy man work.
